New strain of canine flu turning up in pet dogs
The deadly dog flu epidemic that has clawed at racetracks from the Bay State to Texas now appears to be infecting dogs in vets’ offices, shelters, and in one case, a pet store.
Researchers are now turning up cases of pet dogs with a newly discovered strain of canine influenza in Florida and New York, researchers reported yesterday.
